Hiking in county Wicklow around Enniskerry is pure heaven, through the rugged landscape of Ireland. Chances are it's wild and windy. Actually, it's so windy the wild adventure is playing havoc with your hood, your hair is sticking to your drenched face, you realise how raincoats ought to be designed down to the ankles!

It's like a flood of rugged green, all different tones, and shades, swaying trees in the wind, stubby emerald grass, spongy moss underfoot, bushes tumbling wildly, hedgerows looking exhausted from the battle. When all is done and the little village is back in sight, be sure to pop into that wee pub in Enniskerry for a pint of Guinness beside the warm fire, the struggle is real but worth it.
