Art for travel lovers
"What's it called?" enquired my husband, "you have to name this piece for the exhibition!"
Normally names come quickly to me, sometimes even before the artwork is finished, but not this one. It's not that I didn't want to name it, it's just every time I look at it I get lost.
Not a lonely lost, more of a heavenly, content 'backpacking around the world' lost in a continual moment of bliss. For a fleeting moment I'm in awe of the golden temples in Chang Mai, next I'm jumping in tactile aboriginal art, then I'm enveloped in the Vietnamese jungle, I feel the sticky air on my skin, I can hear the crickets harmonizing with thousands of species I'll never know.
Time moves, I move with it, it has no control over my travels, I am free. I can see the tracks of past travelers, or perhaps they are tracks of my past travels. It doesn't matter, I do not dwell, I'm in the moment, I remember to breathe and 'just be'.
The colour psychology
The dominant colour of this artwork is mauve. If you like mauve you may be an idealistic thinker and have a fascination with things that are spiritual and mystical. Self-expression is important to you but you don't focus on being popular or achieving a high social status (maybe you already have it!). You are a compassionate person, although sometimes you suppress your feelings.
In contrast to this, gold is the colour of wealth and luxury, dots of confident red give power and ever-evolving strength, while calming turquoise dances on the surface balancing emotions, bring mental clarity, and encouraging creativity.
