Natalie Forrester is an Irish artist living in rural Hungary with her husband, László and their son, Wolfe. Natalie investigates the effects of colour on human emotion and behaviour (colour psychology), whilst informing her art collectors on best colour practices in their home and businesses.
In ‘Let’s get lost in Heritage’ Natalie invites the viewer to reflect on the colour green’s symbolism in the Irish and Hungarian flags.
In the Irish flag, the green represents the Catholic faith, (orange for the Protestant faith and white for peace), whilst in the Hungarian flag the teal green represents the mountains (white symbolises the rivers and red remembers the ancestors who defended both).
This artwork is from Natalie’s green collection ‘Let’s get Lost’ in which she invites the viewer to take time out and get lost in the effects of green art. Green is scientifically proven to be a relaxing colour due to its short wavelengths, evident in its natural, calming presence in rejuvenating environments.
