I am inspired through sound sometimes as much as sight. As a 19 year old, first-year at National College of Art & Design (NCAD) in Dublin, in 2001, I was introduced to Van Morrison's second album 'Astral Weeks' (released 1968). My mind was blown as my ears were introduced to musical texture and experimentation. I named this artwork 'Balerina', after the 7th track on the album. Sometimes creativity calls us to look at the negative space before finding the beauty within the positive. Look at this artwork, can you see how the ballerina swirls, and twirls, creating patterns and shapes in their wake?
