Core | Original Art Painting

280

My first year as an art student at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin, was the first time I was encouraged to be creative in every aspect of my life. First year was called Core Year, as we experimented in all different disciplines, glass, ceramics, painting, and textiles, but most of all it was 120 art students being encouraged to be outrageously creative. Creative in how we made art, how we dressed, how we thought, how we traveled, even how we ate, partied and danced! Every aspect of our life had to ooze creativity and individuality. You would think that competition was fierce, but it was not, because when you put so many genuinely creative individuals together on a journey of seeking inspiration and creating art you find that they all inspire each other to be even more individual and more creative. It was creative training from the inside out. Ensuring we were creative from our core. I hope that this painting brings you to your creative headspace every day.
